Who We Are

Positive Perceptions is a partnership with other Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners in Sussex County Delaware. A Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is a licensed and board certified advanced practice nurse who specializes in providing pharmacotherapy to individuals and families to improve their mental health. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse practitioners utilize a client centered approach that encompasses the individual’s overall well-being, emotional state, and environmental factors. Combining compassionate communication with an understanding of medication, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners endeavor to support clients in their journey to improved resilience and emotional stability.

Theresa has truly helped me through some of the hardest times in my life. I have Bipolar 1 disorder and there were moments when I was struggling deeply, especially during manic episodes and times when I was not compliant with my medication. She never judged me, never gave up on me, and never made me feel like I was too much.

Even when I was at my lowest and not making the best choices for myself, she stayed consistent, patient, and compassionate. She stuck with me when I probably wasn’t easy to stick with. That kind of care is rare.

I genuinely believe she saved my life. I am so grateful for her guidance, her steadiness, and the way she truly sees her patients as human beings. If you are looking for someone who will walk with you through the hard seasons and not give up on you, I cannot recommend Theresa enough.
